Tara's Story
When Tara was 7 months pregnant she discovered a lump in her breast. As there is a history of breast cancer in her family, she went to have it checked with a breast specialist. She was referred for an ultrasound at an imaging clinic and the report came back as a cyst, “nothing to be concerned about”
A few months later they had a beautiful baby girl, Eve, who is the sunshine in their lives. They couldn’t believe how lucky they were and looking forward to starting their lives together as a family.
When Eve was 4 months old, Tara was still concerned about the lump as it had grown and started to deform her breast. She went back to the specialist and he sent her for a biopsy. This time she was told that next to the cyst there was a large mass that had been previously missed and it was, in fact, breast cancer.
Tara underwent diagnostic tests and it was found that the cancer had metastasized to her spine. The prognosis given to her was that it was stage IV terminal breast cancer.
The proceeds from the trivia night will help to purchase some much-needed household items, provide a more certain financial future for Eve and maybe one day, if Tara’s health permits, go towards a trip for the 3 of them to Dermot’s hometown in Ireland where much of Dermot’s family live.
Please help Tara live life to the fullest with her much-loved family. If you can't attend the trivia night, but would like to donate some money to help Tara and her family, here is the link to a "go fund me" page that was set up for them
